…PAR’s [Participatory Action Research] utilization of co-researchers has provided a model for research in Alaska Native communities that enhances community control of the research process. Co-researcher involvement and the PAR approach brought about…a research setting that was more culturally competent, in that it was in greater accord with Native values.
